SUMMER LAW CLERK
During the summer of 2022, the summer law clerk will be given exposure to Blake & Uhlig’s practice areas, perform legal research assignments, and assist with various proceedings and events, including arbitrations, trials and client meetings. Blake & Uhlig proudly participates in the Diversity, Outreach, Opportunities, and Recruitment (DOOR) Program of the Lawyers Coordinating Committee, AFL-CIO.
Requirements Include: Blake & Uhlig welcomes applications from law students wishing to serve as a summer law clerk at our firm. We expect applicants to have a demonstrated interest in the fields of labor and/or employee benefits.

Blake & Uhlig, P.A., a twenty attorney Kansas City law firm representing multiemployer employee benefit plans and labor unions, seeks an experienced attorney to assist with its growing employee benefits practice.
Blake & Uhlig is happy to offer this position as a remote work position for qualified applicants who have at least three (3) years of relevant experience. Position responsibilities include drafting documents and providing legal advice for defined benefit plans, defined contribution plans and self-funded health and welfare plans. The position will focus primarily on drafting documents in compliance with ERISA, PPACA, HIPAA, the IRC and other federal and state laws impacting employee benefit plans.
As a remote position, the position allows flexibility in work hours. Consistent with the remote nature of the position, the successful candidate will be primarily dedicated to plan document drafting, including plan documents, plan amendments, summary plan descriptions, and plan policies.
While this is a remote position, Blake & Uhlig offers a supportive and collegial environment. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and also be part of a virtual team.
